manchester's comfortable on a tight rope have been putting on shows, releasing limited work of art tapes and cdrs for a while now and this is their first wax salvo. former bullies and waiters battle it out for party-starting supremacy here. waiters are scuzzed up mini masters of chanted odes to loss, odes rammed into the socket of a bleeding amp, kicked about with a drawled melodic sense that reminds us of thee oh sees, jc satan, or the fuzz-wall excess of woodsist or hozac. former bullies we've seen plenty of before. they take the best excess of moronic 60s teen-garage and smother it with priceless, unavoidable melody. it's a sound that's timeless and timely, sounding both life-affirming and desperate in the best possible way. a killer double sider.
